Theme of the great social containers, and central point of the current planning : often one considers these isolated, a park ‘to be seen from afar’. Reason, in this case, urges one on : it was envisioned as point of formation, of meeting, of comparison, both from within and from without, ample communicating spaces and a surrounding studio makes of the building a nexus of the existing constructed reality rather than merely a de-contextualised oasis.
At urban level, the school marks the extension of the current institute, rendered insufficient and inadequate. Indeed for the town’s current expansion, one finds oneself (after having once been dissociated, outside of the centre), at the nexus at which the lie of the urban form finds its visibility, at the very centre of the ‘park street’ and its entrance formed as a square and a meeting place.
