The driving orientation behind the planning proposal has been the will (accorded
by the intention of recovery), to refurbish the entire operation of
dissecting. The presented plan aimed at fully underscoring the
architectural value of the main section which, from one standpoint,
marks the bottom of a ‘hollow’ within the public gardens,
and from another, aims at dialogue between the Town Library and cultural
centre as well as with the current Town Council Building and Construction
office. The two secondary wings interweave the walled courtyard
of the basic building characterising Via Safi and Giordano Bruno. The
resultant occupied space of the main body and two lateral wings of horseshoe
planimetric set up creates a typology of internal courtyard, allowing
for internal space permeability which may be taken further advantage
of from outdoors.
